Three New Prototypes

As promised, here is the latest batch of PCB prototypes for the 3rd generation electronics:

RepRap Motherboard v1.1 - onboard Sanguino, RS485, stepper headers, RJ45 jacks and a real ATX power supply header. it can even control the power supply on/off programmatically. rad.

Extruder Controller v2.1 - onboard Arduino, RS485, one cable connection for power+comms to Motherboard, lots of goodies.

Stepper Motor Driver v2.3-r1 - minor fix to make maximum endstops work properly. works really well. much cheaper than v1.x series of stepper drivers.

Remember, when these run out, they will not be re-stocked by the RRRF as we’ll be moving on to whatever the next version we cook up is. If you want kits and such, be patient and they will start to be offered by MakerBot Industries in the next 2-3 weeks. If anyone else wants to pick them up an manufacture them, that would be awesome.

Cheers,
Zach

  1. The Reprap motherboard looks ace!

  2. how can I buy a full kit of electronics to make my RepRap? I live in Brazil.

  3. your websites are, to say the least, confusing. About a week ago I checked rrrf. There was a new reprap that I hadn’t scene, with acrylic platforms and pipe fabricated base. I wondered what the tolerances that machine can hold are.

where are the kits for a machine larger than a cup cake. where do the electronic kits leave off, and can one find a mechanical kit? where are the kits and what do they have. I would like pricing on electronic kits and mechanical kits for a machine a step larger than a cup cake, with extruder and whatever other bells and whistles are available.

  4. Cool, I finally stumbled to a site about this! I was daydreaming about it this morning (well technically evening dreaming as it was evening time ) and now I discover this site. Coincidence alright. Might be checking back!
