First Day: Awesome
Posted on May 24th, 2007 by Zach Smith
Wow. I had no idea that people were this interested in RepRap. So far, we did about 10 sales! I was completely caught off guard and am now out of stock in some items. I’ll be ordering more tomorrow and will have lots of stuff in stock then. The universal boards are out, as well as some nozzle sizes. The boards will take about 10 days to get back in, but the other stuff should hopefully be back up by Tuesday.
Thank you!

Hello!
Thanks all for this wonderful initiative!!
I have the following suggestions/comments/questions
1) The parts-shop seems to break when I use Windows Exploder instead of Firefox, is this intentional?
2) If it is not a legal issue it would be nice if the part numbers of the respective manufacturers where visible somewhere. For instance I was totally unable to find a brass acorn nut with an M6 thread size on McMaster-Carr’s website, are you using an “inch-threaded” nut? It would be good for compatibility if someone where to order a nut from this site and the extruder heater from somwhere else!
3) More visibility about payment options (Paypal, e-gold, VISA or whatever)
/Cheers
Hey Erik,
1. nope, not intentional, but not surprising. I use a Mac, so I’ll try to get on a windows computer to test/fix it.
2. sure, i could put up the part #. no legal issue there. just an FYI, the parts sold here arent *exactly* the specs on the site. they’re 3/8″ instead. the nuts, barrels, and thermal barriers on here will all work together.
3. good call, i’ll try and put that on there. basically we take paypal, which takes anything.
We are very interested in this project. two questions.
1. Can you have more than one material head. So you can lay down different layers of different materials.
2. Is there a whole project kit. And what is the cost for this. I mean all pic boards, extrusion heads, etc…
We are looking to aqure up to 25 of these machines with in the 90 days if this is posiable.
thanks

Michael,
First off, I just want to let you know that we still consider this a research project. We’re actively developing the core technology, so it may or may not work as intended. Just an FYI.
As for your questions:
1. we’re working with two materials: a) HDPE and b) support filler (wall spackle / silicon paste)
2. i’m working on getting a full kit released, but we’re not there yet. we need to get the first machines up and printing the plastic parts to really get that setup properly.
I hope you’re still interested. We’d love to have more people involved.
