Well, welcome to the RRRF. This blog here will serve as our news feed to keep you up to date with foundation activities. Things that will get posted here include new items for sale, product updates, and general foundation news. Our goal here is to serve the RepRap (and 3D replication) community as well as possible. The happier you are, the happier we are.
Anyway, theres alot of work to be done, and writing blog entries doesn’t really help with that. Onward to the future!

So how much does a RepRap currently cost in parts?
Good question. Currently, we’re looking at somewhere in the range of $400 for parts. Although that doesn’t include tools, or the host computer. We tried to keep these as basic as possible though. You’ll need things like a drill press/power drill, a vice, a soldering iron, etc.
I have two quick questions:
1. Are there any quick or easy upgrades you guys would have made if you had assumed that people building Darwin would have access to an industrial machine shop? In other words, does anything come to mind that would drastically improve Darwin if I used some fancy CNC equipment, or even just a nice mill, rather than the stuff I have in the garage?
2. Roughly how quickly can Darwin print?
Hey Ted,
Those questions are best anwered by reading the wiki, or posting in the forums: http://forums.reprap.org
